Our mission is to deliver healthy food to the people who are in need within our communities in Western Australia, in the most efficient and effective way possible.
Our first year (2022)
2022 annual report
Happy Pantry – BCS Inc. wants to continuously support families on low incomes, families with additional expenses due to ill health or disability, extended families, foster families, seniors, and families struggling with the high cost of rent or mortgages – and to reduce landfill for a better, sustainable future. We can only do this through the generosity of our wonderful local partners, volunteers and community support.
Over the past eight months we have been able to feed over 6,075 people directly from this property. Our volunteers have donated 2,653 hours of their time since June to help with the running and operations of this charity, and we thank you all for your hard work. In November and December alone, some 18,787 kilos of produce came through Happy Pantry. We have seen an increase in companies donating supplies and in not-for-profit organisations picking up food for their members.
Spreadsheets and graphs will be supplied with the minutes of meeting, so you can see the wonderful progress Happy Pantry has made since starting back in April 2022.
A view to the future
Happy Pantry is a unique charity in that we deal directly with the public and do not require any proof of hardship from our members. Because of this, we look forward to finding government support for the funds we need to employ full-time staff who can support our goals and help the community as times get tougher for families and individuals. Happy Pantry depends heavily on our generous volunteers and committee members to make this happen.
